Developing an interest in hairdressing came naturally to Roland – whose family ran a successful salon in Southern France, but it was his formal training with Vidal Sassoon London and Jacques Dessange Paris that solidified his passion. Working alongside prominent names like Jean-Yves Bouley, Lucie Saint Clair, Jacques Dessange and Jean Francois Lazartigue, he quickly earned his place among the top stylists in Paris. During his time at Dessange, he worked as a trainer at the Dessange Academy Paris as well in the flagship salon.
In 1996, he fulfilled a dream to move to Asia when he joined the team at the newly opened Dessange Hong Kong. From 2003 onwards he has continued to build a cosmopolitan clientele as Director of one of Hong Kong’s most reputable hair and beauty groups. Now, as Founder of BRUNEBLONDE, another dream has become a reality – the establishment of a salon designed to be a hub of talent in the heart of Hong Kong.
Roland’s editorial work has been featured in publications such as ELLE, Marie-Claire, Harper’s Bazaar USA, and Hong Kong Tatler. His most recent work in Hong Kong are TV commercials for L’Oréal Paris and Estee Lauder. He has had the pleasure of working with well-known and high-profile clients including supermodel Constance Jabloski, Arizona Muse, Barbara Palvin, Xiao Wen Ju, Nicky Tailor, singing sensation Celine Dion, Queen Mathilde of Belgium and billionaire businessman Steve Wynn.
Co-Founder and Director
With a dynamic personality that matches his creativity and artistic style, David is widely considered one of the leading stylists in Hong Kong. Born in France, he credits his career choice to a cousin who guided his early training that ultimately took him to Paris at age 18. There, he worked under the tutelage of renowned stylist Jacques Moisant from whom David observed and learned the importance of “artistry” in his craft. Having worked at both flagship salons of Jacques Moisant and equally renowned Lucie Saint Clair, his experience in Paris encompassed salon work as well as creations for the fashion runways.
From Jacques Dessange in Paris, he ventured to the Dessange Taipei Salon, Taiwan in 1994 thus marking his move to Asia. In 1996, he joined the new Dessange team in Hong Kong. Since then he has cultivated a loyal clientele while at the creative helm of one of Hong Kong’s leading local salons.
He balances his time between hair coloring and styling, a rare talent to excel in both. In fact, his work is regarded as extremely versatile not only in the salon environment but equally in his editorial work too. His clientele during the course of his career to date has included the likes of Naomi Campbell, Lauren Hutton, Claudia Cardinale, Sophie Marceau, Nicolas Cage, Rachel Griffiths, as well as Hong Kong luminaries.
BRAUD OLIVIER XAVIER
Braud Olivier Xavier was born in Paris, growing his sense of touch and artistic in celebrity stylist like PATRICK MILLANDE and JACQUES DESSANGE, join the international team at age 25 and since then have been working in amazing countries with different cultures like Moscow, Tunis, Istanbul and Hong Kong developing his understanding of fashion and beauty. He has been part of endless events from cat walk, editorial, TV show or even beauty contest.
With 6 years of professional experience in Hong Kong, Rayne already made his mark in the hair beauty industry. His attention to detail and style pays tribute to having extensive experience in fashion shows for luxury brands namely Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, and Cartier. Rayne’s editorial work has been featured in ELLE, Marie-Claire, and Cosmopolitan Magazine. He also worked with prominent male singers namely Eason Chan, Aaron Kwok, Jacky Cheung, and for actor Ron Ng.
Rayne balances his professional life with simple activities such as watching movies, taking his bike for a ride, or a game of badminton with family and friends. And whenever time allows, he enjoys travelling the world.
Van's creative styling and talent was developed organically through more than 13 years in the Hong Kong salon industry. Van's unique style complements well with the latest international hair trends while accommodating her client's needs. By having to frequently work with celebrities such as Sharon Chan, Kenneth Ma, and in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant series, she always raises her own benchmark.
Van's jovial and outgoing persona gives credence to an active and healthy life outside the salon.
Carroll Wong is a hairdresser and make-up artist. She studied at the Esmod Institute in Paris from 1996-1997 and has almost 30 years of professional experience, starting with Le Salon Orient in Hong Kong. Carroll has also worked at a number of the leading salons in Hong Kong such as Il Colpo and Jacques Dessange. Carroll also styles hair and make-up for luxury fashion brands such as Chanel, Celine, Moschino, and for the Miss Asia Pacific pageant.
Her ultra-friendly and relaxed persona naturally disguises of her level of dedication and professionalism towards her career. This is one of the main reasons why her loyal clients adore her.
Gemini received formal training at the Toni & Guy Academy in London. With more than 15 years in the hair industry in Hong Kong, his portfolio of work has been seen on editorial such as Número Shanghai, The Week Shanghai, SCMP Post Magazine, Elle, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Hong Kong Tatler, and on the runway, namely for Dior, Gucci, Versace, and Chloe.
When he is away from the salon, Gemini loves to do anything that brings him inspiration for his craft – whether it's watching a movie, going to a concert, or keeping up with fashion. A healthy mind is best paired with a fit physique.
Native to Hong Kong, Jennifer always knew she wanted to be in the hairstyling industry from the get-go. She started off as an apprentice at prestigious salons in Hong Kong and worked her way up as leading creative director level. When she is not in the salon, she masters her craft at large fashion shows, beauty pageants, and a range of advertising.
Her growing talent has given her a unique style loved by her devoted celebrities and the everyday modern clientele.
Kay received his training from the reputable Debut Hair Academy & Salon in Shanghai before joining BRUNEBLONDE as a stylist. His five years of experience in the hair industry are not limited to the hair salon – he has participated in numerous hair shows, luxury cosmetic events and fashion shows in Hong Kong.
Kay makes time for outdoor activities such as hiking, football, and water sports to keep his body and mind at balance, which helps him stay on top of his creativity.
With professional experience spanning over 20 years in the industry, Zoe is now one of the sought-after Hair Colorists among celebrities and the entertainment elite in Hong Kong.
Zoe began her career after formal training in the United Kingdom and has since worked for prestigious salons in Hong Kong, Taipei and Shanghai, with a loyal A-list clientele. Her innate passion for painting and her unique visionary skills have made her now a specialist.
Zoe strives for perfection and views each work as an art piece. Her refined techniques and artistic talent have hence earned her collaboration with renowned artists and performers who require high precision and creativity in coloring and perming for movies, television and stage shows, TV commercials and hair product ads, photo shoots for magazine, and media events, namely: Louis Koo, Gigi Leung, Zhou Xun, Rene Liu, Angelica Lee, Charlie Yeung, Charlene Choi, Sandra Ng, Karena Lam, Lin Chi-ling, Vanness Wu, Kam Kwok Leung, Athena Chu, Michael Wong.
Shirley has almost 40 years of professional nail experience and has worked at various top hair-salons in Hong Kong. She has also worked with international and local celebrities and models. Shirley specializes in all natural manicures/pedicures, soft and hard gel, hand/foot massage, and even eyebrow and lip threading. Dedicated and attentive to detail, customers are treated in the utmost care under Shirley's hands.
George has more than 25 years of experience in the hairstyling industry. His perfectionist nature and creatively unique instinct in his work makes him a favorite amongst renowned clients and celebrities. He is grateful and proud to be the chief hairstylist for Hong Kong pop singer Kelly Chen for over 10 years. George also has extensive experience in fashion events and shows. He enjoys his leisure time hiking, catching up on movies, and whenever possible, travelling.
At a young age, Moss began his training in hair cutting and styling at a well-known hair salon in Hong Kong, where he discovered a passion for the industry. He gradually moved onto other reputable hair salons to gain extended experience. Hair styling for fashion magazines and concerts gives Moss a chance to further challenge his creativity. On set, he has worked with male actors such as Edison Chen and Anthony Chan. Moss enjoys his leisure time playing basketball with his friends or travelling.
With more than 10 years of experience under his belt, Cannis’s hair styling portfolio ranges from in-salon to on-set with magazines such as I.D., Cosmopolitan, Harper’s Bazaar, to advertising projects with L’Oréal, Dior, and Chanel. It is needless to say that Cannis has a versatile background. One of his hobbies includes cooking. It is no wonder he has meticulous and patient traits like a master chef.
Referring herself as a “manicurist-slash-doctor”, Julia cares a lot more than the usual pretty hands and feet. Aside from careful trimming and polish application, she understands what it takes to bring unhealthy nails back to its natural beauty. Throughout her 10 years in the nail industry, she keeps herself up-to-date with the latest nail trends and share new ideas with her happy clients. She also works with print advertising namely for me! Fashion Beauty, Ketchup and shares her work on Instagram. When she’s not attending to her clients, she enjoys being with nature like camping, hiking and swimming.
Romeo joins BRUNEBLONDE having more than 20 years in the hair industry, with previous working experience at numerous top salons in Mainland China and Hong Kong. He is technician, consultant, and instructor. Romeo finds his balance by taking time to go to jogging, exploring new music, and books.
Alexander Chui studied at a well known styling school in London and has worked as a professional hair stylist at leading hair salons in Hong Kong for over 15 years. Many of his clients include well-know celebrities and socialites, and he participates in fashion shows and beauty pageants. Alexander also works with professional photographers and stylists on high-profile photos shoots for popular publications such as Prestige Magazine, Hong Kong Tatler, SCMP, Baccarat, and other overseas media. He frequently participates in commercial shoots for international brands including Vidal Sassoon, Cartier, Coca Cola, Bvlgari, Vertu, Le Saunda, Catherine Deane, Empire Group, Hayson Properties, Miramar Hotels, and much more. Alexander is passionate about hair and enjoys the creative freedom of his work.
With 10 years of salon experience in Hong Kong, Marcus’ soft spoken and charming persona makes him a favorite amongst his clientele and peers. His solid communication skills in Chinese and English give credence to his multi-ethnic client base. Though he has loyal female customers, he has an eye for men’s hair and aspires to learn more about barber styling. Whenever time allows, he enjoys watching movies, listening to music and playing basketball.
Irene’s passion in nail shaping and styling has crowned her a master in the industry. Since youth, she was an apprentice of a respected manicurist in Hong Kong and has over 20 years of industry experience. Meticulous and efficient, Irene creates a perfect composition of nail design as she has an eye for color and texture. Her elegant yet chic creativity blended with a vivacious persona is the reason to having a loyal client base.
During her free time, she enjoys experimenting with new cosmetic products and eyebrow micro-blading techniques to bring out the best of her clients and friends.
With 6 years in the nail industry in Hong Kong and Australia, Sharon is skilled in various nail techniques. She is also qualified to provide advice on nail health and problems. Sharon loves this industry for the craft and the process of meeting new people and having conversations with her clients.
Henry received formal training at Vidal Sassoon UK and its debut academy in Shanghai. With more than 15 years in the hair industry, his portfolio of work has been seen in editorial such as Chanel, Chanel Jewelry, Cartier, Marie Claire magazine, and for Hong Kong singer Sally Yeh.
When he is away from the salon, Henry enjoys swimming, traveling, and spending time with friends.
